Melbourne MAMA Community
It started with belonging. A home away from home for Indian students, migrants and the diaspora in Australia, since 2017.

I came to Australia as an international student from Hyderabad, no network, no playbook, and a lot of questions nobody was answering. So I built a community. People meeting, supporting each other, finding jobs and accommodation, navigating visas, belonging.
That became Melbourne MAMA. What began as a handful of people helping each other has grown into a 250K+ community across India and Australia, connecting students, migrants, entrepreneurs, artists, creators and the Telugu/Indian diaspora.
You. Me. We. Us. · Connect. Create. Coexist.
What the community does
- Community and cultural engagement; student and migrant support.
- Business collaborations, creator relationships and brand partnerships.
- Film promotions, community screenings and Australian audience engagement.
- Interviews, podcasts, events and diaspora storytelling.

The community taught me the thing everything else is built on: people don’t just want connection, they want direction. We started by helping people belong. Now we help them build.
